Inter Patent Office participated as one of the guest speakers during a Coffee Talk together with the Indonesian Advocates Association-Officium Nobile South Jakarta (“AAI-ON Jaksel”) and Sonderlab being held on 3 February 2023 at Tujuhari Coffee.

Nowadays the creative economy industry entrepreneurs in Indonesia are becoming more aware towards the importance of the Intellectual Property protection. It is an interesting topic to be discussed by lawyers and all the creative economy industry entrepreneurs. AAI-ON Jaksel collaborated with Inter Patent Office and Sonderlab, a leading fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform in Indonesia in this Coffee Talk.

Hendra Widjaya, Managing Partner of Inter Patent Office gave brief presentation on different types of Intellectual Property that entrepreneurs should be aware of, and the importance of recordal and/or protection of their Intellectual Property before the Directorate General of Intellectual Property. He also shared on the procedures of publication, examination until an Intellectual Property can be granted protection that would provide an exclusive right to the owner.

Whereas, Monica Esther, the Retail Director of Sonderlab also shared and explained number of issues often discussed in the Sonderlab community, one of the examples namely the bootleg phenomenon of the creative economy industry entrepreneurs who join Sonderlab. The talk also discussed things that can be done by entrepreneurs when there is an act of plagiarism.
